LR383 (2026): Maternal Mental Health in Nebraska Interim Study Report

Maternal mental health (MMH) conditions are common, treatable, and often preventable when families are identified early and connected to appropriate support and treatment. In Nebraska, these conditions affect mothers, infants, families, employers, public programs, and the healthcare system, with clear impacts on maternal and infant mortality, birth outcomes, child development, family stability, and healthcare and economic costs. This report was developed for LR 383, an interim study to examine the issue of maternal depression in Nebraska.
