LR162: Efficacy of the School Readiness Tax Credit
The School Readiness Tax Credit, first offered in 2017 and expiring in 2021, offered a refundable tax credit for qualified child care professionals and a nonrefundable tax credit for child care programs. It was intended to support the early childhood workforce and incentivize child care programs serving low-income children to improve quality through the Step Up to Quality system. This report provides an overview of the utilization and impact of the tax credit.
